Financial regulations embody many financial terms in a semi-structured format. Narrative in their format, regulations mainly express the obligations, but also permissions and prohibitions that a financial institution needs to consider in complex extended trading situations. For compliance applications, FIBO provides a start but extensions were needed to address the semantic richness of compliance.
