In response to the financial crisis, regulatory bodies, such as the SEC, continue to refine the specification of the information needs that allow future financial problems to be foreseen in time to react. With the complexity of some financial products, particularly in the financial market area, a need has emerged to understand and disambiguate the components of financial trade, The OMG has started the ratification of a the EDMC standard called FIBO. This session addresses how a Financial Institution can adopt this new standard and make use of an industry model to identify the technical resources that can be used to support the reporting requirements — and in the process bring better understanding of the risk that the institution is carrying.
