As Data becomes the fuel for business growth, so does it also become a source of potential liability, whether as a result of security breach, or abuse, or misuse. Recent international Safe Harbor regulations are just one example of the steps regulators and policy makers are taking to control the use of data, but there are many examples of common business practice that are beginning to come under scrutiny as well, such as the predictive big data models that are giving rise to unintended discrimination. This presentation will look at the emerging issues in data-related liability that every organizations needs to be aware of.
