This presentation is a practical primer for building a Data Governance and Information Quality Center of Excellence program. This session will include lessons learned from Michael’s experiences of building a Healthcare oriented Data Governance and Information Quality program.
Though Michael’s experiences revolve around the Healthcare space, the principles and best practices can be applied to sundry industries. Michael will touch on topics that illustrate how to: - Establish a Data Governance Council and use it as a driver for improving information quality within your organization
- Develop a federated Data Stewardship model
- Produce quantitative and qualitative results to achieve senior leadership buy-in
- Manage business and technical metadata assets
Before joining Cigna and becoming the Data Quality Center
Of Excellence Engineering Lead, Michael Davis served as CEO
and President of OmegaSoft consulting. At OmegaSoft, Michael
provided customers with staff augmentation and database
Management services. Mr. Davis has over 18+ years of
Information technology experience and has presented
and published articles on Database Management.
Mr. Davis hails from St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands and is an
avid golfer and runner. He is also very passionate about
Health and Wellness. He started the first local chapter of
the Health 2.0 in Connecticut. Health 2.0 is an organization
with a mission to improve healthcare outcomes using
social media and other web-based technologies.
