Data Privacy perspectives differ on either side of the Atlantic, at least from a legislative perspective. But globally, most jurisdictions have adopted principles that map to those espoused by the European Union. Through legislative change and judicial action, these rules have changed and how have far reaching impacts on organizations based outside the EU.

This session presents an overview of basic principles of Data Privacy in the EU and how those principles apply to and affect the operations of organizations based outside the EU. If your organization sells into the EU, or has operations in the EU, this session is for you.

  • Understand fundamental principles of EU Data Privacy law.
  • Understand how and when those rules apply to non-EU organisations.
  • Learn how US laws map to these principles in practice.
  • Understand how adopting a principles based approach can drive effective Governance.
